Just 1.5km from the house is a beautiful complex Terme Tuhelj where you can enjoy the water attractions for the whole family. Terme Tuhelj are the largest swimming pool area in Croatia with over five thousand m2 of water surface, and consist of 8 outdoor and indoor pools. The pool complex is packed with attractions (slides, wave pool, lazy river, ..), and there are also fun animations. If you want to relax, try a wide range of wellness and spa packages.

The City of Klanjec

Only a couple of minutes drive from the house is the town of Klanjec, located on the slopes of Cesar hill, and mentioned in the 15th century. Klanjec abounds in cultural and historical alternatives such as: Franciscan monastery and church of BDM, Antun Augustinčić Gallery, medieval fortress Cesargrad, chapel of St. Florijan, Memorial Cemetery where the last resting place was found by the author of the Croatian anthem Antun Mihanović, ..

Nature lovers and fans of active holidays will find something of interest in the immediate vicinity of my home, such as bicycle and walking trails, fitness and tennis centre in Tuhelj spa, hiking in Cesargrad with a beautiful view of the river Sutla and neighbouring Slovenia. Besides enjoying in untouched nature, the visit of Cesargrad, middle-aged fortress built during 14th century, will offer opportunity for better knowing rich history of Zagorje and some events which had significant influence on wider social activities from that period.

Museums of the Croatian zagorje

This area boasts a  rich cultural and historical heritage, with the medieval castles of Tabor and Miljana, Neanderthal Museum, Hušnjak Hill, Kumrovec ethno village, Antun Augustinčić Gallery in Klanjec and a monument to the Croatian national anthem “Our beautiful homeland”, which was erected in 1934 in the protected area of Zelenjak. There are just 20 minutes of driving from holiday house Lema.

Veliki Tabor Castle

Veliki Tabor Castle is located not far from Desinić. The name comes from the name “tabor” that stood for a war camp, that is, the fortifications that were raised for the defense against the Turks. Veliki Tabor is one of the best preserved late-medieval and Renaissance fortified cities of continental Croatia.

Krapina Neanderthal site “Hušnjakovo” is protected as the first paleontological monument of nature in Croatia and belongs to the most important paleoanthropological sites of the world. The museum interprets the phenomenon of the genesis of mankind in an interactive way. The permanent exhibition of the museum is conceived in 18 thematic units that lead us far into the past, from the oldest past of the Earth to the beginning of the civilization and the modern era.

The Museum of peasant revolts

The Museum of peasant revolts offers a complete overview of feudal Zagorje since the history, culture and everyday life of that age are covered throughout several themes. The Peasant revolt from 1573 is a central event, but the feudal society is not only shown through the conflict of the estates, but also through the complex changes that the social organization in the area of the Croatian Zagorje underwent from the late Middle Ages to its official abolition in 1848.

Museum “Old Village” Kumrovec

Museum “Old Village” Kumrovec is the largest traditionally decorated area in Croatia that gives visitors the authentic insight into an authentic design of a village in Zagorje from the beginning of the 20th century. With about forty reconstructed facilities of traditional architecture one can learn how our predecessors used to live. The exibits tell a story about the customs and everyday life of peasants and their families, as well as show the various traditional crafts that provided for the existence of the inhabitants of the villages of Zagorje and their families.

Gallery Augustinčić

The Gallery was founded in 1970 when Antun Augustinčić (1900 – 1979), one of the most significant Croatian sculptors and unavoidable representatives of Croatian modern art, gave as a gift to his hometown Klanjec his own sculptor opus compiled in 50 years of creation, from the twenties to seventies, that had made him gain a reputation both in homeland and abroad.
